At McCulloch-Wilson Dental, we’re passionate about cultivating health partnerships based on the shared goal of helping you and your family reach optimal levels of wellness. We know our patients lead busy lives and would prefer to avoid the need for extensive dental work. We’re here to inform you of the most effective ways to prevent oral infection and disease, and we have the knowledge, experience, and technology needed to detect and compassionately treat any ailments that may have evaded your preventive measures.
Dr. Melissa Wilson is a Houston native. She graduated with honors from Penn State University in 2002, where she also swam competitively and helped lead the team to a Big Team Championship and national rankings. She received her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree (along with numerous graduate awards) from New York University in 2006.
Dr. Wilson then completed a one-year intensive residency program at the Veteran’s Hospital in Houston, where she gained valuable experience in complex treatment. This program included a rotation at MD Anderson Cancer Center dealing with oncologic dentistry and working alongside the department of head and neck surgery. She has completed education courses with some of the leading dental experts to gain knowledge on both the function and esthetics of dentistry. Her continued learning includes courses at the Dawson Academy and active memberships in both Spear Education and the Seattle Study Club.
She has been married to her husband Tom for over ten years. They have twin boys in Kindergarten and welcomed a baby girl into the family in February 2018.
Dr. McCulloch, or Dr. Mac as his friends and patients call him, is a native Texan and has lived in the Houston area for over 50 years. He earned both his undergraduate education as well as his DDS from the University of Texas, although at different branches—Austin and Houston respectively.
He has been happily married to his wife, Judy, for over 38 years. Together they have two sons, Jeff and Kyle. Jeff is a financial planner, is married to his wife Becca and they have a son, Julian. Kyle is a commercial real estate broker in Austin, is married to Taryn and they have two sons, Marc and Miller.
When he’s not in the office helping patients, Dr. Mac is an avid golfer and hunter, and he also enjoys saltwater fishing. Both Dr. Mac and his son, Kyle, participated in athletics at the University of Texas. Go Longhorns!
Karla became a registered dental assistant in 1982. She is a native Houstonian and currently lives in Katy with her husband, Guy, and daughter, Brittany. Karla’s hobbies include gardening, stained glass projects, and cooking for family and friends (and the office, of course). She loves making patients feel like family.
Kathryn graduated with honors from the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston after earning her Bachelor’s Degree in journalism from the University of Nebraska. Kathryn combines her love of writing with her passion for dentistry by publishing articles and continuing education courses in dental journals. Kathryn joined the McCulloch-Wilson Dental team in 2002.
Kathryn and her husband, Rob, have two sons, Benjamin and Zachary, both of whom attend the University of Texas in Austin. Kathryn enjoys traveling, reading, antique shopping, and family time. She loves to partner with her patients to improve their oral and overall health. Knowing she can make a difference in someone’s life and health keeps her excited about dentistry.
Jeanne graduated with honors from the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. She joined the team at McCulloch-Wilson Dental in 2008. Jeanne and her husband, Travis, have two young children, Audrey and Jack. Jeanne enjoys playing with her little ones, attending sporting events, decorating, and crafts.
She loves watching patients improve their oral and overall health. Knowing she can help people keep their teeth for a lifetime and enjoy a beautiful smile is great!
Casey began her career as a dental assistant, then graduated from Wharton County Junior College Dental Hygiene School in 2005. She joined our team in 2009. Casey and her husband, Caleb, have a young son, Cade. Casey enjoys shopping and spending time with her family. She loves helping others improve their health and being able to make a difference.
Cecilia graduated from Del Mar College Corpus Christi and earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Dental Hygiene from the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. She joined our team in 2010. Cecilia and her husband, Shane, have two children. She enjoys the outdoors, reading, and shopping.
She loves interacting with different people every day and taking care of her patients. She has a passion for helping people overcome their dental anxieties and enjoys educating her patients on the importance of good oral hygiene and its effects on the whole body.
Janice graduated with honors from the University of Texas Health Science Center Dental Branch in Houston. She joined our team in 2013. Janice and her husband, Chris, recently moved here from Colorado. They have two grown sons. Janice enjoys Food Network TV and Home and Garden TV. She also likes real estate and traveling.
Her favorite part of working at McCulloch-Wilson Dental is meeting so many people and helping them enjoy their dental visits. She especially loves seeing the “before and after” success of each patient.
Rebecca is a Texas Registered Dental Hygienist and a graduate of Wharton County Junior College’s Dental Hygiene program. She has been with our practice since June 2014. For Rebecca, being a dental hygienist is so much more than just cleaning teeth. She loves the variety of each day, each patient, and every case.
Rebecca is originally from Miami, FL and her hobbies include reading, dance, and Taekwondo.
Ellen graduated from Texas State Technical College 39 years ago and started her career in Dental Assisting. She joined our team in 2010 and today is Dr. Wilson’s trusted assistant. Ellen loves being able to help our patients afford the dental work they need and want. It’s so satisfying for her to see the new smiles our dentists create.
Ellen has two children and is the proud grandmother of four beautiful grandchildren. Ellen enjoys country dancing, going to the beach, and seeing movies.
Ellen became Dr. McCulloch’s assistant in 2003 and has 30 years of dental experience. Her patients love her kind nature and caring personality. Ellen and her husband, David, enjoy their cattle ranch and vegetable garden. They generously share the bounty of their garden with our team often. Ellen’s top priority is her patients’ well-being, and she loves helping them reach a pain-free state.
Susan has been working in the field of dentistry for 28 years! She has been with our practice since August 2016. She started her dental career at the age of 19 working at the front desk and as a chair-side dental assistant in a pediatric dental office. She has spent most of her dental career in pediatric dentistry.
In her spare time, Susan loves to read, learn, and further her education. She feels fortunate to be involved in the field of dentistry. She enjoys the relationships she has with her patients and coworkers and believes in the importance of our patients’ good oral health.
Julie graduated from HCC in 2004 and become a registered dental assistant. She started her career at UT School of Dentistry at Houston in clinical services where she worked with 3rd and 4th-year dental students as well as residents, and spent the rest of her time in pediatric dentistry as an Insurance Coordinator. She then graduated with a Bachelor of Science from the University of Houston at Victoria in 2010. She brings to our office a great understanding of dental treatment and relates it to the corresponding insurance plans. She works hard to make sure we have the most accurate insurance information and benefits to better serve the patient.
In her spare time, she enjoys spending quality time with her daughter as well as family and friends, exercising, shopping, movies, and jewelry making.
